t is worth noting that many companies in the Saudi market have begun recognizing the necessity of adapting to the changing circumstances around them. To remain competitive, they must adopt strategic policies and plans to address the risks and challenges they face. Part of this adaptation includes maintaining the health and safety of their employees, safeguarding their clients’ assets, and protecting the surrounding environment. This necessitates the adoption of internal management systems that focus on implementing occupational health and safety measures while ensuring a pollution-free environment.

The Purpose of ISO 14001:2015

ISO 14001:2015 provides companies with a framework to protect the environment, address environmental changes, and balance environmental, social, and economic demands. Its objectives include:

  • Reducing the environmental impact of the company’s activities.

  • Enhancing environmental protection efforts.

  • Monitoring and influencing service delivery methods to be environmentally conscious.

The Purpose of ISO 45001:2018

ISO 45001:2018 aims to establish an occupational health and safety management system to address risks in companies. The primary outcomes of this system include:

  • Preventing accidents during work and service execution.

  • Avoiding occupational health issues among employees.

  • Creating a healthy and safe workplace by eliminating risks through preventive measures.

Implementing these measures results in improved environmental health and safety standards.

The Importance of Adopting International Standards

The implementation of occupational health, safety, and environmental management systems in the operations and maintenance sector is critical. It aligns with the nature of the services provided by the sector, particularly the ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 14001:2015 standards.

These systems are among the most successful frameworks globally due to their adaptability to all organizations, regardless of industry, size, or nature of products or services. Their application enhances the level of services provided by the sector and raises awareness among employees about health and environmental practices.

A Notable Achievement

This accomplishment signifies a qualitative leap planned to advance the operations and maintenance sector. It aims to elevate the quality of services provided, ensure customer satisfaction, and enhance the sector’s reputation among competitors.

We must acknowledge the efforts of the Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment Management team, who played a vital role in educating, training, and implementing ISO requirements. This achievement would not have been possible without their teamwork and determination to succeed.
